Greetings in Christ! I’m Jon, and I like to blog. To borrow a line from a more well-known blogger, Tim Challies, I am a plodding blogger. I don’t do this as a platform for me to be more well known; but more out of the fact that I like to write.
As for about me, I’m a man, a sinner saved by grace, a husband, a father, a brother, a son, and a friend. I have been in love with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for going on 20 years now, and He is my reason for being. I have been married to my bride, Roni, since 2007, and we have four wonderful children, Kirby, Zeke, Evie, and Katie (due to arrive in September 2016). I have several siblings scattered around the United States, and my mom and dad live nearby in sunny Southwest Florida. And, being an introvert, I have few friends, but the ones I do have are very close, and I would hope that I am close to them. I value friendship greatly, even in my family relationships
My wife and I serve at First Baptist Church of Immokalee, Florida in the capacity that we run the Wednesday night children’s ministry, sharing the gospel with children ages three years through fifth grade. Serving these children and their families is sometimes challenging, however, it is rewarding and fruitful because we serve an amazing God who changes hearts and lives for eternity.
I have recently graduated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with my Maters in Theological Studies (MTS) with an emphasis in Preaching and Pastoral Ministry. The two years I spent laboring through school again were long and difficult, but, I know that I have grown in so many ways. While it may not be for everyone, Seminary was something definitely for me, as it helped me more clearly define my beliefs and allowed me to grow in ways I don’t think I would have otherwise.
I have recently joined the group of contributing writers to the blog The Reformed Outlook, so check it out, it’s a great group of people!
My wife and I also run our own Etsy Shop, PredestinedDecals by ESV Bible Nerd, where we sell mostly Laptop Decals, however, we also do other things, such as root beer mugs.
