I still cannot believe we are in 2023…
The Past Week’s Top Read:
Fight for Delight by Planning Your Daily Devotions
This is actually excellent regarding daily devotions. Have a plan, don’t just wing it. I winged it for years, and as I look back, I have realized that I learned little, or at least not nearly as much, as I have in comparison to planned devotions.
Holiness Together
I know this is from 2018 from Together for the Gospel, but I recently heard it for the first time, and it’s amazing. I love this quote from Mark Dever from this sermon, “Spend so much time in your public service praying that the people who only pretend to believe in God get bored by it.” So, take the time and listen to this sermon!
He Tailors Your Trials: How God Fits Your Afflictions Just For You
“With his kind and sovereign hand, God designs your pain and hardship precisely for you. Your Father is not some Olympian Zeus hurling lightning bolts aimlessly at the earth below. He is not arbitrary, unfeeling, or aimless in his distribution of severe mercy. No, your faithful Shepherd knows you, knows your need, and knows how to bless you better than you do yourself.”
What Is A Reformed Baptist?
I’m pretty sure I’ve posted this before, or a very similar article. Regardless, it’s an excellent read.
“What is it that makes a “Reformed Baptist” distinct from other kinds of Baptists and Reformed folks? Reformed Baptists grew out of the English Reformation, emerging from Independent paedobaptist churches in the 1640’s for some very specific theological reasons, and they held to a particular kind of theology.“
Your TV (might be) Is Spying On You
Informative. I wouldn’t have thought to check privacy settings on my Roku TV prior to this. I know to check it on my phone and computer, but not my TV.
Even When I Hate My Body, God Calls It Good
“Chronic illness or not, we all have times where we wrestle with the ways sin has marred the goodness within our earthly vessels. Yet, we can (and should) praise the Lord for them. I’m learning this, slowly. I’ve likewise learned that it’s good to run to God for help and reliance—that though the pain is not good, what God produces through it is a blessing.”
