Greetings in Christ! I’m Jonathan, and I like to blog. To borrow a line from a more well-known blogger, Tim Challies, I am a plodding blogger. I don’t do this as a platform for me to be more well known; but more out of the fact that I like to write.
As for about me, I’m a man, a sinner saved by grace, a husband, a father, a brother, a son, and a friend. I have been in love with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ since November 26, 1996, and He is my reason for being. I have been married to my bride, Roni, since 2007, and we have four wonderful children, Kirby, Zeke, Evie, and Katie. I have several siblings scattered around the United States, and my mom lives in sunny Southwest Florida.
Currently I serve our Lord as Pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church in Wellsville, Missouri, proclaiming the Gospel week in and week out to the local church here. My family and I are enjoying the rural living, having moved from the Chicago area to rural Missouri.
I am a graduate of the Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with my Masters in Theological Studies (MTS) with an emphasis in Preaching and Pastoral Ministry. The two years I spent laboring through school again were long and difficult, but, I know that I have grown in so many ways. While it may not be for everyone, Seminary was something definitely for me, as it helped me more clearly define my beliefs and allowed me to grow in ways I don’t think I would have otherwise.
