Welcome to the Week, or, really, almost the end of it…
This Week on the Blog: A Tale of Two Study Bibles
Today’s Top Choice:
The Briefing with Al Mohler – 10/20/2021 edition
Notice I didn’t say “Top read” for this, as it’s a podcast. If you’ve never listened to The Briefing with Al Mohler, the President of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, you’re missing out. It’s one of the best podcasts that all believers should listen to. And, yesterday’s episode (linked above) is one of the best and most important episodes to listen to. You can listen to it there, or find it on most podcast apps on smartphones.
Should We Look for God In Every Story?
As someone who loves to read fiction, this article really hits home.
“Can literature be the actual agent God uses to bring a person to conversion? If we are skeptical, it is probably because we have not encountered people who trace their Christian conversion to reading specific works of literature. Considering the following testimonials will be both enlightening and edifying.”
An Unexpected Message from Silicon Valley
“Gelsinger is one of the very few publicly identified Christian CEOs in Silicon Valley. In the interview, he discussed the relevance of his Christian principles within the highly secular context of big tech companies. Gelsinger was quick to voice his support for the principles of workplace diversity but emphasized that this should include respecting someone like himself, an open Christian who described his work as ultimately in service of “honoring God.””
The Most Important Thing
“That which is most important for all time, as is well known only to some, is Jesus Christ. I mean, not just Jesus Christ as a being, but Jesus Christ in the light of what he has done—his life, death, and resurrection. It is a huge gamble to dismiss the one who is the center of everything. There is, in fact, no hope for such a person.”
Cultivating a Gracious Climate in Your Church
This was an article that I, a pastor, really was encouraged and convicted by. I think you’ll definitely like it as well.
