It’s a good weekend. Cold, but good.
Today’s Top Read:
Practical Ways to Cultivate Personal Evangelism
“I have recently been working through a mid-week Bible study on biblical evangelism at the church I currently serve at. From the beginning, I wanted us to understand what evangelism was not in order for us to understand what it is, and how we can further cultivate personal evangelism.”
What If I Don’t Have A Spiritual Gift?
“So my conclusion from these texts is that to be a Christian is to be a member of the body of Christ, and to be a member of the body of Christ is to have a role in the body that is essential to the body — not flashy, not prominent, but essential.”
For the Church Institute
The For the Church Institute is not an article to read, but a resource to treasure. Free courses from tenured seminary professors are designed for those in the church who want to grow but cannot go to, or don’t feel called to go to Seminary. I remember once, in early 2020 I believe, Jason K. Allen, president of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, said that if a person can get a robust theological education in their local church, they’d don’t need to go to seminary necessarily. Here is a tremendous resource for churches and individuals towards such a goal.
Shepherding in the Age of Self
This is an excellent read as we see many churches and pastors suffer because of the Age of Self. Too many “Bible studies” and other events are churches are geared more toward feeding the desires of those who planned them or for those in attendance. This should not be so; Bible studies and events should be geared towards the mission of the church: making disciples.
Apple Time Blocking AirDrop
I enjoy Apple products and I use AirDrop regularly in my household. And, while I don’t like getting random AirDrops from strangers, I think that limiting it as a result of protests in other parts of the world can begin a dangerous trend that can, and honestly probably will spread here to the United States. So, this is a good read and something to be on the lookout for.
