Happy Resurrection Sunday! I hope you all have a blessed Lord’s Day!
My Top Pick
How Does The Cross Lead Us To Humility?
“He’s saying that for an awakened heart—a heart that’s been touched by grace and the gospel—there’s a different kind of humility that is produced. When you think about what Jesus did for you, it really cracks open in your heart. Even for me, despite all of my problems and my repeated cycles of problems, God actually loves me and my sins are actually forgiven. There’s a kind of humility that awakens in our heart as we genuinely find ourselves loving, adoring, and thanking God.”
Why is Good Friday Good?
““It is finished,” He cried. This work of Christ on the cross is called by theologians the doctrine of the atonement. The atonement is really at the heart of the gospel and the heart of Christianity itself,”
Protesters At Free Speech Even Destroy a Bible
I normally don’t post articles that are, or close to being, purely political, however, this one really strikes a chord. And the conservatives are called intolerant? I know we aren’t guilty, but of the vast majority of the protests you hear about, you’re not reading about violent conservative protests…
Every?
Every? Every!
Why Are the Books of the Bible in the Order They’re In?
This is a question that I have always had but never given too much thought to. This is a good and informative read!
Follow Without Seeing, Die Without Receiving
“When we follow the Lord, we commit to a lifetime of living by faith rather than by sight. This contrasts those who set their hearts on the things of this world and who can see and experience their reward moment by moment and day by day.”
The Best Preacher For You
This is a great article. While it addresses in-person versus podcasts and video screens, it reminds me of an anecdote I heard of years, maybe even over a decade ago. It goes like this: A seminary professor in his first years of teaching, would ask students who their favorite preacher was. They would almost all answer their local, home-church pastor. Towards the end of his teaching tenure, they almost never answered their home-church pastor, but would instead name celebrity pastors and preachers of the day.
Honestly, the best preacher for you is the one you sit under every Lord’s Day (given you are attending an orthodox church).
